punks.generated.eth is generative art built from the summed pixels of all 10,000 CryptoPunks. Every punk comes from a seed; the seed picks an algorithm, palette and background, and the punk is rendered from it, the same every time.

TRAITS

• Algorithm: 12 methods. Consensus, Collapse, Archetype and Rare Blood ~15% each; Lineage, Mirror, Strata, Annealed, Shards, Rare Archetype, Soft Collapse and Inked ~5% each.

• Palette: usually natural colours. Game Boy ~2.5%; NES, CGA, PICO-8, C64, Spectrum, Sepia, Virtual Boy, Gold/Black, Silver/Black 0.5% each; Mac 1-bit 0.25%.

• Background: Solid, Palette or Gradient. Gradients are always one hue, in Bold or Subtle (50/50).

• Extras: laser eyes (~4%), a black or palette outline and glare eyes (a featureless face gets eyes) also come from the seed.

Can I choose my punk? No: it comes from its seed.

Is it random? Deterministic from the seed: same seed, same punk.

RENDERER

The art is generated on-chain. The generator and the pixel dataset are stored in the contract, and each token returns an HTML page that runs that engine on its seed in your browser. Anyone can re-render any punk from the chain alone.
